Student halls Fallowfield
Sunday 30th August

On Friday I moved into a place in Fallowfield for a few days. It's at Manchester University halls of residence which can be hired out over the summer holidays. It was because I wanted to go out clubbing all weekend and I had enough of driving. I even managed to rent one of the rooms I lived in while at university - Flat 1.02 Holly Court!

It was a brilliant weekend.

Now it's Sunday night, my girlfriend has gone home and I'm on my own wandering around the Fallowfield halls of residence.

There's lots of religious people wandering about as well, they've been here all weekend. It's a Christian convention and they're all staying in Richmond Park halls of residence.
These Christians seem good people. They all behave well, respect each other, have good conversation and don't end up just boozing or pulling. If it was a convention of general public from the city centre the place would have been smashed up by now.

I go to my car to put some stuff in the boot. I notice a guy hugging a girl in the car park. then I return half an hour later to get an umbrella and they're still there. It's like an emotional hug for ages. The world needs more of this kind of stuff.

Christians aren't so bad. Although I'm a bit dubious after those Christians (season 2) who didn't want to know me unless I went to their church.

It's 6:00pm and by now I've arranged to meet Alex K in half an hour. It turns out he's back from his holidays in Turkey. So I'm still wandering around and I'm still dressed in clubwear. Trousers with blue pinstripe. Fitted dark-grey shirt. Boots. Leather jacket. all the Christians are now walking in the same direction to Ashburne Hall, all dressed smart and look like they’re going to a ball.

One religious guy, as I'm walking along I've got a smile on my face because os such a great weekend, he looks at me. I smile, he smiles and nods slowly as if to say - now you have seen the power of Christianity or something. Maybe he's assuming I'm with them. I'll never forget that guy. He's right, even though I'm not with the Christian group, seeing all their hugging and being nice to each other has made a difference.

I meet with Alex K.

Now it's 7pm and I'm at McDonalds in Fallowfield. It's the 5th McDonalds I've had (3rd visit because sometimes I have 2 in a row) in 24 hours. I ran out of food and the best I could find to take away in Fallowfield was McDonalds.

Alex K tells me about his holiday. He's been partying on a boat in Turkey.
At 8:30pm Alex K goes home for dinner.

At 10pm I go to Tesco Express, buy bread rolls and a pack of bananas. I'm planning to go home Monday morning seeing as I've paid for the night.

I go to bed a 11pm.

By 2am I've had enough. I'm leaving. The party has finished here. After seeing the religious guy and having been clubbing, it's as if I've got what I came for. I'm content and I'm going home.

I pack up. Put my suitcase in the car. Go to the night security guy, who at first thinks I'm going to rob the place or something! I haven't shaved. I'm wearing a leather jacket and cap, I look like a thug. He looks relieved when I hand him the keys and tell him to pass on thanks for the good service.

It's 3am now. I go to the car park. Get into my car. Start the engine. Drive across the long Richmond park car park, past the Armitage Sports Centre, onto the main road and south out of the city.

What a buzzin weekend!
